PRAY
FOR BALTIMORE DAILY DEVOTIONAL JUNE 2, 2008 Good morning and may the
peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you
The bible tells us in Luke 17:11
that ten lepers stood at a distance from Jesus as he was entering a city. They
cried out to him to have mercy on them and he did by healing all ten. He told
them to go show themselves to a priest a sign that they had been healed by God.İOut
of the ten one returned to give glory to God. Jesus asked "İWhere are the other
nine"? He then told the one " Go your faith hasİsaved you".
Lepers were
put outside cities and made to live in makeshift campsİbecause of their disease.
They often were made to were bells around their neck to make people aware of their
presence. It truly was like a death sentence.
This wasİone of the many miracles
Jesus gave to sick people. The lesson here though is learned through the one who
returned to give thanks and glory to God. Jesus healed people to direct them to
God. Only one of ten discovered that.
Living life with a thankful heart
and spirit towards God is the message for all of us. The healing is temporary
and limited to earth, theİthankful heart and spirit continue in eternity. I pray
that we all can have the attitude of the one and not the nine. Mayİthe spirit
move upon you and shed the grace of God within your heart.
