Quick question about the Army ACU while in public?

I’m on exodus right now from OSUT training and it’s pretty cold in my home town with heavy snow. I was wondering if I am permitted to wear my green beanie I was issued with my ACU’s while in public. We used to wear it with the ACU back in OSUT but I don’t know if it’s different for when you’re out in public. Thanks a lot!

Really, if you are away from any military post, and you have no other head gear, go ahead and wear it. No one will probably even know it’s the issued fleece cap. I’m probably gonna wear my waffle top on leave for when I get cold because it’s nice and warm. Am I permitted to? I have no idea. Do I care? No, because the closest base is over a hundred miles away from where I will be. Now if you wanted to wear like your ACU top and shorts or jeans, then you might have issues. But something as simple as the fleece cap, you shouldn’t have any issues.
