I have a Nicolaus Amatus fecit in Cremona 1654 violin, how much is it worth?

How do I know if this violin is a replica or the real deal? The previous owner purchased it in th 1920′s and it was used before then. The Label on the inside of the violin reads “Nicolaus Amatus fecit in Cremona 1654 made in Czechoslovakia” This violin is in mint condition and it has the bow & case with it.I was wondering how much a replica and the real 1654 violin would be worth.

The “made in Czechoslovakia” means that it was made in a factory in Czechoslovakia. The Czechoslovakians and now the Czechs have long made inexpensive instruments based on the styles of the great masters.
Some of these instruments were actually pretty good although in later decades not so much so.
A real Amati in mint condition would be a valuable find. Even before the invention of Czechoslovakia as a country in 1918 instrument makers of little renown would put fake labels in their instruments proclaiming them to be the works of Stradivarius, Amatus, da Salo et. al.

Without having seen the instrument I can only say that it might be worth a few thousand dollars, but maybe less.

Your best bet would be to take it to a qualified luthier for an appraisal.
