Transportation Security Administration Says No To Armed U.S. Solder – Due To Finger Nail Clippers
Soldiers returning home from Afghanistan have given the media yet an additional chance to poke at TSA, reports Red State. Despite the fact that U.S. Customs had already inspected the solders’ possessions and separated them from their ammo before putting them on the flight out of Afghanistan – and the soldiers had not left the plane before touching down in Indianapolis – TSA confiscated nail clippers from one of the soldiers once the plane was on United States soil.

Rules were being followed when the TSA confiscated the tiny nail clippers. Compared to the M4 rifle, they were nothing though. A pair of nail clippers could do hardly anything compared to a weapon within the hands of a highly trained soldier even if it didn’t have ammo. The news is likely going to really enjoy talking all about this story. This is because the groping pat downs and full body scanners have already been making people really mad lately. Red State reports that airport security had to take all 330 on board into a holding plane after landing the plan in Indianapolis. At least 100 of the soldiers on the flight carried firearms with them. These included M-240 machine guns, M9 pistols and M4 carbines. U.S. Customs had cleared and secured all the ammo while none of the weapons were loaded. It seemed that TSA was hoping all the baggage might be unpacked by the soldiers piece by piece for review. Of course, it had already been screened by customs. The soldiers all had their luggage sniffed for an hour by bomb-sniffing dogs reports Red State. Then the soldiers sat for a couple of hours before TSA inspected them again –and the nail clippers were discovered. TSA hadn’t known about them up to this point. The TSA seemed to be on a power trip according to the Red State and other media sources. Some say finding the clippers just was a bonus on top of everything.
