Case Soft

how can i soften my pillow case into a soft woobie? I wash it everyday but not getting soft yet.?

My last woobie took almost 4 years to make by washing and drying it with every load of laundry I did. There has to be some way of speeding this up. I use a really expensive, high thread count pillow case. Any help from some other woobie lovers would be great. I have thought about maybe soaking it in fabric softner for a few weeks, but I dont know.

fabric softened will actually make the case harder. Detergent in hot water will soften it.
