Clones Buffalo
Anyone have the recipe for the buffalo wings sauce they use at Ponderosa?
I have tried Kopy Kat and Restaurant Clone and Top Secret and every other website I can find to locate this recipe…anyone know have it or know where else to look? My roommate loves their wing sauce and a birthday is coming up and I would like to make some homemade to surprise my roommate. Thank you in advance…

zerothworld1–I know what “buffalo wing sauce” basically is…everyone adjusts theirs differently, some add special spices and what not…looking for the specific recipe Ponderosa uses…
Add a stick of butter to a medium size bottle of Tabasco or Picquante sauce in a 1 qut. pan with tight lid, heat until melted, add the cooked wings (baked broiled or fried) to the sauce, shake and serve. Curry, BBQ, Pepper , Garlic or other seasoning can be added to taste. I think Ponderosa adds a dash of Hickory smoke to theirs (and more salt). I disagree with above poster, but I like mine HOT, even going for Habañero or Chipotlé.
Local BJ’ and Sam’s Store wholesalers often have proprietorial foods by Ponderosa and others in their freezer section.
Metromedia Restaurant Group manages Ponderosa, Bonanza, and several other Steakhouses. They feature regular, hot, and honey BBQ wings on their menu, available online to cater.
Different Ponderosas probably get theirs from different jobbers in their area, some sell bottles of sauce with their labels (Jobbers custom do these for companies too, even if the recipe isn’t always the same.)
