Pachmayr Grips?

I just installed Pachmayr Compac grips on my S&W J-Frame and theres about an eighth inch gap along the bottom of the grip. A service rep said this is “normal”. Has anyone else had this problem?

Not knowing whether you have a round- or square-butt J-frame doesn’t really matter a lot. I have used Pachmayer grips for square-butt frames on round-butt snub-nosed Magnums, which have a lot more than 1/8 inch gap, with no problem. Most of the contact surface between grip & frame is on the sides, and I have never had any problem with loose or slipping grips with the hard rubber Pachmayers.
