My Marlin 336 is chambered in 30-30, I am updating the gun with a composite stock and sights, along with a few other attachments. But my question is, can the tube hold more than four? I heard that some were able to have a 6+1 capacity, but i don’t know if these are only the newer models or not. This rifle is at least 30-40 years old, it was used for hunting in Missouri so legally, it wasn’t able to hold more, I was thinking that there might be a plug in the tube like in shotguns. Does anyone know if this is true? If so how can I remove it (or have it removed) and if I take it out, can I get it back in without damaging the gun. I won’t be using this for hunting so don’t worry about any illigal uses of the modification.
most are /were 6+1 ….but there is a youth model that holds less….as well as several custom options…
u could get all the way up to a 10 + 1 but would require a custom length tube and plunger…not to mention “fitting” to make it work correctly…..
more than likely urs is a 336y which is the youth model since they come with a 4 or 5 shot tube capacity……
** if for some reason urs is a full 336 with some sort of fitted plug …u would need to disassemble the tube to remove it….
