Custom Grips

diamond plate 9mm grips?
i have a norinco nz-85 ( cz clone ) and im wondering if a custom metal shop would be able to make me custom grips out of diamond plate? the stock grips are plastic and cheesy as hell also they brake very easily. on top of that can i have my gun chromed? if i can have it chromed do i need to remove the little pin the hammer hits?
the diamond plate will pretty much be for cosmetic, i do IPSC shoots and have another gun i use but this is more of a fun gun maybe something for a friend i bring so if it slips its their problem
Jerrod, it is possible to make metal grips for any handgun, how practical they are is another issue. If your wanting to get decent grips check and see if Pachmyer has a set for your handgun. Or another option would be to make your own out of a piece of teak or mahogany wood. Hand made grips that are stained with the natural oils of your hand give any pistol a classic look all their own.
As for chroming a handgun, yes it is done all the time. Here’s the big question: do you want to spend more on a chrome job than the pistol is worth? You can buy a chromed Smith, Colt, or Para Ordnance for what your going to pay to have that Norinco chromed.
