you see the chess set in the scene where jet li is talking to his father about how he had to go to jail for him. it was after jet li’s brother’s funeral.i only got a look at the pieces really.

it was an ordinary chess set. you can tell by the checkered board, the front row of pawns and different pieces in the back (the rook knight and bishop are visible). it just looks different because the pieces are ornamental.
