Double Rifle

like to get some feed back and thoughts on .338 win mag in double rifle for sambar deer.?

If referring to the Indian Sambar (Cervus unicolor) then seems like a fine caliber choice.
If referring to the Philippine Sambar (Cervus mariannus) it is overkill defined.

My only thought is, where are you hunting.

Edit: I’m assuming this is a rifle which you already own, not one you are contemplating on purchasing with this hunt as a main factor. If you don’t yet own the rifle then it may be more then what you need but it is a very fine rifle and if you have the money I would highly suggest buying it, as you can hunt a variety of large game with one. If you don’t have the money and deer is the extent of what you hunt I would opt for a different caliber in single shot or bolt action.
