Can sound be recorded with some kind of ultra-fast technique?
What I mean, is that you can often see those super slow motion videos, shot at 1000 or more frames per second. But can it be done with sound? To record any sound with – i don’t know what it would be – super fast frequency or resolution? And then play this sound, recorded for eg. 1 second, in slow motion, without any digital enhancement. I know you can digitally slow down the sound, but it’s not the same. Is it possible to record sound “faster” than our ears can hear, just like it is possible to record video faster, than our eyes can see?

GOOD tape records often have different speeds. For example, a studio recorder will often have 15 Inches per second (IPS) and 7.5 IPS. So, record at 15 IPS and playback at 7.5 IPS gives you a lower sound.
Special Effects decks have a variable speed, and can often go up and down. Expect to pay about $5000 for one of these!!
But with digital electronics so cheap any more, most studios use DIGITAL records instad of tape.
