I found a pelican egg, how do I incubate it??

I found it in a place called Elk Horn Slough in California today and I have it in the fridge right now. Can I just get a box and put it inside and poke holes and keep a heater at low nearby?

Take it out of the refrigerator IMMEDIATELY.
Return it to where you got it. My guess is that it was supposed to be there. A pelican probably intentionally nested its egg where you found it.
Or contact a local animal rescue.
Or contact a ranger at Elk Horn Slough.
You should NOT be taking ANYTHING from there.
I live close to ES. It is a precious resource. It should be preserved.
