Frame Revolver
Does a .44 magnum or any revolver of a larger caliber need a concealed weapons permit?
I know this question is probably one of the dumbest anyone has heard, but I was just wondering if since you cant really conceal a .44 magnum or .454 Casull would you need a concealed weapons permit? I have been looking into getting a large frame revolver so I can try my luck in deer hunting with it. I have always wanted to shoot a deer with a pistol. I am from Iowa by the way
Whether or not you need a concealed weapons permit depends on the state you are in. (I don’t know Iowa law – contact your local government offices and they can tell you.) It doesn’t depend on the caliber of the weapon – just the weapon itself.
If all you are going to do is hunt with it and not carry it around other than that, then you may not need a concealed carry permit.
And by the way – you can conceal a .44 if you really want to – I’m female, and it would fit in my large purse. I wouldn’t be happy carrying it that way, but it would fit.
