Gauge Butt

dash instrument panel not working?

i modified the dash of my 95 suburban and moved my instrument cluster to the visor area. doing that i added 5 feet of 16 gauge wire butt connected to eachother to make it reach. some of the factory wiring was 18 gauge but i added 16 g anyways thinking wiring is wiring. Now my instruments do not work. my abs light is the only thing on in the cluster. what in the hell did i do? i did one wire at a time. is it the butt connectors? is it because it isnt the same gauge coming from the butt connectors? any ideas?????

Make sure you are properly GROUNDED. That difference in wiring shouldn’t cause a problem. Also, double check all your lead to make sure it’s correct. Luck to you!
