Should I clean the factory gun oil from my new Glock?
When a new gun comes with that factory gun oil over everything, are you supposed to clean it off? If so, with what? I have some Winchester gun wash. Can that do anything?
Clean the gun and inspect it. You want to get a feel for how it looks new so that later you will be able to tell if something changes.
Don’t remove the gold/copper colored grease on the inside of the slide–According to the Glock Armorer’s manual that needs to stay. If you’ve already removed it then put some other light grease where the copper colored grease was. It needs to be there.
Other than that, lubricate your Glock with a drop of oil in the locations shown in the diagram in the link below.
