Grip Grip

What are some reasons to avoid an alternate grip while performing a barbell dead lift with a narrow stance?
I once read about possible long term health risks associated with using an alternate grip while performing the barbell dead lift, but every source I have researched still recommends this grip. Obvious issues concerning grip strength and muscular imbalances aside, what are some health issues to take into consideration?
if you do a heavy dead lift then an alternate grip is almost essential.
the grip seems to be the least of my worries of possible things that could cause physical injury.
i just alternate hands on each set.
if you are talking about doing dead lifts for maximum singles. unless someone is in competition then what is the purpose of doing a maximum single anyway. ego enhancement?
/// only thing negative i have read about alternate grip is possibility of twisting and causing injury. regardless of grip. hernia and spinal injuries are probably the big concerns. thats why proper form and concentration are essential. bad technique and not the weight is what causes injuries.
deadlifts are my favorite exercise.(couldn’t pay me to do squats) greatly increased my strength. and i haven’t had any lifting injuries in 5yrs.my health has only improved from doing deadlifts. the lightest deadlifts i do are at least 70% of my 5 rep. max.
