Grip Set

What is the proper golf grip when preparing to strike the ball?
I have been told that both “v”s in the hands should point to the right shoulder. For a strong set up I’m not sure where they should be pointing actually so any information would be appreciated. ( I’m right handed).
David you already have heard the story of the V’s in the golf grip and I suggest you close that chapter now and take your grip to the next level. Most good players play with a two knuckle grip which means that they put their left hand on the club and position it so they see two knuckles when in the address position. They have the thumb positioned slightly to the right of the centre of the shaft. The right hand goes on the club in a more neutral position and the so called V will actually point at their chin. This right hand position makes it easier to control the face at impact because it is always pointing in the direction of the clubface. You’ll hit a lot of straight shots with this grip if you control the swing path straight down the line. Give it a try and good luck.
