Grips Magwell

M4/m16 soldier question?
how come soldiers tend to hold the front of the magwell when they have a vertical grip on already?
is it some kind of helpfull tactic or something, or do they do it just for comfort and forget they have the vertical grip?
It is more comfortable. Also, when you are on patrol you are more likely to use your rifle for long range engagement. The vertical grip is used more for CQB (house clearing) as it gives you quicker muzzle movement. While the front magwell gives you increased accuracy.
