Gun Parts
What kind of oil should I use on my gun parts?

It’s important to lightly oil firearms parts before reaasembly and storage.

But is there any brand you can recommend?

Taking care of you firearm is the most important, brand is, but not AS much. You can use WD-40 if you clean and reapply it every week, The very best are Militech-1 grease and Ballistol Multi-Purpose Sportsmen’s oil and S&W Advanced Gun Oil. I wouldn’t use Rem oil, Hoppes 9 Elite, Pro-Shot, or Otis Special Forces dry lube, they aren’t very good. I use Ballistol to clean my guns and along with militech-1 to oil them. Ballistol is the best, it also preserves the wood on firearms, where hoppes can really screw up your finish. Other good oils are CLP, Nano-Oil and Otis ultra bore.

Here check out this video and then see how you feel, this guy did a test on some of the most popular oils, it was tested on a steel plate that set outside for 14 days after being oiled by various oils.
