My airsoft guns air nozzle was fixed but now the BBs shoot all over the place. Whats going on?

I have an Echo1 ER 25K and found out the air nozzle was broken. I fixed it but now the BBs jam, don’t shoot far at all, and spray all over the place. Th only problem I have found is that there is a blue rubber sleeve that fits inside my hopup that goes over the barrel. It was ripped but I don’t really know what it does. Could that be the problem?
