Ear plugs for when you play live- ER 25′s
I recently purchased a pair of ER25s. I play in a heavy metal band, which means im exposing my ears to loud music alot and im becoming alittle deaf, which can be worrying at times. Ive been wearing the foam earplugs at gigs and at band rehearsal, but they dont seem to be doing much to protect my ears. Since we had a tour in february i decided to pay the money it would cost and buy a pair to save my hearing.
They have been a doing a great job with my ears. ER 25′s are easy to put in and so comfortable that i sometime forget i’ve got them in- which leads to another great point about them. Its almost as though the volume has hardly been turned down at all. It takes off alot of the high end frequencies that you be get from the cymbals and the high end frequencies from the guitar, bass and vocals.
In six weeks after having the cast done they were made and collected. During live shows and during rehearsals my ears are protected, allowing me to have my hearing and enjoy playing and listening to the music i love. They can be made in a variety or colours and contain a cord to join the earplugs up so you dont loose them. Mine are clear, so im pretty sure i would’ve lost the them by now if it wasnt for the cord. If you need your ears syringed than do it before you get the mould taken, as the ear wax wont give an accurate impression.
Getting these earplugs is on of the smartest things a musician can do, as your hearing is protected, but the sound isnt compromised. As musicaisn, we wont want anything more- except more equipment.
