Animal rights, with the use of imitation products?

I have friends that are vegaterian and vegan because of their beleif, that eating meat is cruel to animals. I will never push my beleifs on someone else, but doesn’t the purchase of even “fake” furs, pearls, and leather, put a higher demand on the real products? It is, after all free advertisement, and promotes a demand for animal products. Please help me understand why buying fake products- is ok

It would also help if some humans quit trying to remove themselves from the natural world. We are designed to be omnivorous- not an herbivore or carnivore. Actual cruelty and a natural existence are two entirely different things- and don’t include eating or wearing plant matter only. Synthetics aren’t natural where as fur is.
