Laminated Stock
Year of manufacture for Winchester .270 Model 70 XTR Sporter?
My husband acquired a Winchester .270 Model 70 XTR Sporter.
This rifle has a wood laminated stock and is pretty heavy. Serial No. is G2040910
I tried typing in the serial number in various searches online, and it was “too high” of a number to search for.
I am interested in finding out the year of manufacture, and possibly the value of it.
That is absolutely all the info I have…. please help.

The book I have ends with the 1982 serial numbers. That year the end serial number was just under G1600000. So that puts your firearm well past 1982. I would guess around 1992 plus or minus a few years. Check out gunbroker.com for some comparisons. I think this is shooter not a collector. Hope you and your husband enjoy it.
