are thumbhole stocks legal in california if you have a fixed mag?

and if so, what exactly classes as a fixed mag. I’ve heard it’s either where you breechload to the mag or if you have that extra cover on the mag release so that you have to use some form of tool to release it?
Also if you know the mag allowance, i’ve heard under 10, unless it’s a pre-ban?
I’m trying to figure out just what is legal in this lovely f’d up state of Kalifornia.
