Magazine Follower

AR-15 Magazines… Which is better, the green follower or the gray follower?
I saw two types of AR-15 Mags on sale. Both were made by the same company. One set had green followers, the other had gray followers. Gray followers cost a whopping 30 cents more. Any advantage to either one?
I think the others have the wrong idea of what you are describing. It sounds to me like you are trying to choose between the standard green follower or the newer anti-tilt gray follower. If this is the case, then you will want to go with the gray follower as it is only $0.30 more per magazine and does help reliability.
The green followers are designed to be anti-tilt and indeed are a lot better than the older style metal followers from the older straight body magazines. However, they can still tilt and jam the magazine. Try getting one and pushing down on one side. It tilts and gets jammed.
The gray followers however do not tilt, no matter how you push them. You can push them down all the way on one side and they will still stay level. Short of any magazine body deformities, they will not jam.
Hope this helps!
Edit: In regards to am3ricasarmy’s comment, nearly all plastic, like these magazine followers, is made with plastic that is colored before it is molded. There is absolutely no paint involved whatsoever. The dye is added to the mix in its liquid state and then put into molds where it hardens into the desired shape.
