Old Style

Where can I buy Old Style in Memphis?
I’m in Memphis this weekend, and I need to find Old Style beer in cans or bottles. It’s sold on every corner in Chicago, but it’s not so easily found in the South, so not just any grocery store will do. But I’m sure there’s a place or two in town that stocks virtually every brand of beer in existence. Any suggestions?
As a Chicagoan I have to ask…why in the name of all that is good and holy would purposefully seek out Old Style? Blah! I’d rather lick out an ashtray.
That being said…try any corner store or 7-11ish establishment.

Licensed to Ill $2.57 The joke of Licensed to Ill’s cover–that the Beasties could crash their jet into the side of a mountain and keep on tickin’–serves as a good metaphor for a career that even some of their 1986 admirers thought might be over after the one-time-only shock of this full-length debut. That thousands of funk-junkie wannabes have since failed at re-creating its groove, breaking-the-law vibe, and ear-spl… |

Grease (Original 1978 Motion Picture Soundtrack) $7.98 The movie is a 1970s take on 1950s musicals, providing all the kitsch anyone could hope for. It’s John Travolta as Danny Zuko as Olivia Newton-John’s pompadoured main squeeze, and the kids go crazy. Fresh from his astronomical success with Travolta in Saturday Night Fever, Bee Gee Barry Gibb penned the title track (sung by Frankie Valli). Sha Na Na is over-represented, and actress Stockard Channin… |
