Installing Shower Panels
Usually the walls of a shower panel are made from sheets of unplasticized polyvinyl chloride (UPVC) which are attached to the walls of a shower or a bathroom. The wall panels of a shower wall panels are much easier to apply than traditional bathroom tiles that are made from ceramic. Usually all of the panels are slotted together through the use of a tongue and groove system with the tongue on one panel sliding into the groove of the next panel and so on. Therefore, the walls are covered quickly and easily.
There may be times when these wall panels might have to be sealed with a thin bead of silicone sealant along and on the inside of the joint, particularly if a high pressure power shower is going to be used. Shower wall panels are available in numerous styles and colors including plain, mosaic effect, marble effect, and wood grain. Usually, you can complement these wall panels and give them a finishing touch with waterproof ceiling panels. You can give your bathroom the advantage of installing UPVC panels that ordinary ceramic tiles don’t have such as:
? They have no grout so they won’t get moldy
? UPVC panels will look god for a long time and have a very long life
? They have a surface that’s easy to wipe down
? They are quick and easy to install
UPVC shower panels are available in numerous lengths and sizes. Usually, when paneled ceilings are needed, extra long panels are available.
There are some standard sizes that are common such as:

? 100mm X 2.6m
? 333mm X 2.7m
? 250mm X 2.6m
? 250mm X 2.7m

Usually, the method of installation is quite simple, and although the stud work and batons may be used to meet the requirements for preparation, the wall panels can be immediately attached onto brick, block, and plaster and may even be attached over ceramic tiles that currently exist. The wall panels can be stapled if the walls are suitable. These staples won’t be seen because each successive panel covers the staple. This is a very easy and quick way to attach the wall panels, and also permits them to be easily and quickly removed.
Most installers would rather glue the wall panels directly to the wall with some type f panel adhesive, because this adhesive is very thick and it can be used to straighten areas of the wall that are uneven.
Batons can be attached to the shower panels and the wall where walls that are uneven are encountered. The batons can be attached with either with the appropriate adhesive or with a staple gun. Shower panels are rapidly becoming very popular with the do it yourself (DIY) industry because they are an asset to any bathroom as a result of their ease of use, durability, and they are hygienic.
