Pickups Suvs

Why did GM SUV’s and Pickups jump from basic to luxurious?
Compare the 2006 GM (GMC and Chevy mainly) Pickups and SUV’s with the the 07′s. In 2006, I was in a showroom looking at an Avalanche 2500. This looks like a nice truck, I thought. I got in, and it was…kind of pathetic. When I walked away, a metallic sand Yukon Denali caught my eye. On the outside, it was a luxury SUV. On the inside, it was basically a 2000 Honda Accord with leather seats. A salesman told me as I was leaving in disgust that there is a new and improved 2007 model coming. When I heard that the 07′s were out, I went to the showroom. I WAS BLOWN AWAY! The Yukon Denali and Avalance were sleeker, and had more of a civilian flair to them. I actually wanted to buy them! How did GMC make such a huge advance in not even a year?
Price my man!!!! Why would a company make two plain Jane’s at 15 k when they can sell one fully loaded for 30 k? Most top of the line trucks will never see their way to any job site or mud puddle, work trucks have come along way. Most people in the business of construction need no more then power window, door lock, air conditioning and a automatic to get by. GM ,Ford, Dodge have to do someting to catch up with the import market, so they have to dress them up with all the bells and whistles they can. Just think about it, it started out as a Suburban and turned into a Cadillac (Denali) I do believe that we are only choosing a car for looks not for value anymore. Most people owe more then the truck is worth in just three years…..
Good luck…..
