how to install a king pin on a 1989 fontaine flatbed trailer?

I have cut the welds on the king pin plate,but can not get the plate to come off
i have just put a new fifthwheel on my truck last week

you will need to pull the deck off up front because it is more than likely welded on the cross members. in a after thought in most cases the king pin not the problem it is most of the time the jaws in the 5th wheel. you should have the pin checked to make sure it has worn that bad.
