Marilyn Monroe Art

Marilyn Monroe is an extremely popular topic these days. Some of the most desirable kind of Marilyn Monroe poster pictures is made by Andy Warhol.

Andy Warhol just loved to follow the famous people – actors, world leaders, musicians, anyone popular. One of his most intriguing subjects was Marilyn Monroe, and he produced a lot of art about her. In the 10 Marilyns, 1967, the ten set of Marilyn Monroe art is produced in favorites of Andy Warhol’s colors–the intense yellows, pinks, greens and turquoises that he adored. When Marilyn Monroe passed on, Andy Warhol took four months making 20 silkscreen paintings of her centered on a photograph of Marilyn made for promotion for the movie “Niagra”.

Another famous series was The Four Marilyns, c. 1962, which shows Andy Warhol further captivated by Marillyn. Because Andy Warhol was so fascinated by famous people, he often used their images to produce assembly line art pieces of the big name players. Knowing that there was mortality lurking behind the story of being famed, Andy was fascinated by death. The Four Marilyns are entirely the uniform, yet all different. Andy liked to compose graphics like this–vibrant, intense, graphic and iconic. Something that would leave the viewer wanting to see and know more about Marilyn Monroe.

Marilyn Monroe: I Love Your Kiss Forever, c.1964, is another popular example of the use of famous Marilyn Monroe parts. Marilyn’s lips and teeth, probably taken from the artwork in the Four Marilyns, are reinterpreted in a new way. Typically done in that well-known Warhol style of newspaper-inspired blacks and white, well pixelated, and in bright, intense colorations. All of these art pieces of Andy Warhol Marilyn Monroe prints is really illustrative of the intense pop art phase.

The art series known as “the quotes” is another idea of the renowned Marilyn Monroe poster ideas, an image of Marilyn with one of her famous quotes layered over it. These celebrated individuals quotes have been very preferred.
