If someone breaks into your house, do they usually come back?

Someone recently broke into my house and took a shotgun and our flat screen plasma TV. They were spooked because they left my dad’s rifle (which was worth more than the shotgun by the way) laying on his bed. They were spooked because one of my relatives work on the property beside ours. I guess the robber heard, and ran because my uncle said he saw someone leave, about 12:30 pm. When my mom came home from work (about 3:30), she called the police, and they came to investigate. They are sending the key to the gun case, the TV cable, the rifle, the shotgun case(which was laying on the floor), and a sample of the screen of the window. They left a laptop, a pricey electric guitar and amplifier, jewelry, a brand new camera, and a decent amount of cash. Since they didn’t take the more valuable things (minus the TV), does anybody think that they will probably come back?

It’s seems that their intention is not to rob but some think else….
