WASHING MACHINE
The number of times a washing machine is used and the speed at which the spin cycle revolves,if it were a car with
a speedometer it would have gone “round” the clock several times.
There is probably no greater and more worthwhile invention of modern times like it.
Take this scenario:Everybody ha sto wear clothes which have to be washed, just like everybody needs to eat..
BASIC WORKINGS
When you turn on the machine the inlet valves open to allow water to flow into the mahine by way of the detergent dsipenser
When the water reaches the required level it triggers the pressure switch that closes the inlet valve, which in turn
activates the element that heats the waterto the required selected temperature.
The heating element switches off and then the motor begins to turn the drum where the clothes are in.
At the start of the wash, the drum revolves slowly at first mixing the clothes together with the water and detergent
At intervals, the pump empties the machine and refills it with fresh water.
Final wash allows you to add fabric conditioner
The drum then spins the load at full speed to empty the water and semi dry the clothes.
The unique thing about all washing machines is that the locking switch on the door prevents anyone from opening the machine mid wash.
The water in the machine is emptied via a hose which is either attached to the outlet pipe of the sink, bath or kitchen or as a stand
alone pipe directly connected to the drains.
An important factor of all washibg machines is that you must not overload the machine, but there must be some “free” movement within
the drum-as a rule if you can get both hands into the top of the drum with ease after you have loaded the machine, then ther is
enough space left for the clothes to spin around freely.
MAINTENANCE
1.After use-clean the door seals and drum-keep the plastic around the drum dry, otherwise it will develop a black mould like fungus.
2.wipe and wash the detergent dispenser after every use.
SPOTCHECKS
1.Are the hoses behind the washing machine straight and not bent thereby stopping water from going into the machine?
2.Is the door closed, did you hear it “click” shut?
3.Are the stopcocks that allow water to flow into the machine on? These are usuallt coloured “red” for hot water and “blue” for cold
4.Have you switched the machine on??
5.Have you selected the correct setting?
