Takedown Screw

What is the value of a Winchester model 12-12 guage shotgun?
I am looking for the value of a Winchester model 12 – 12 guage takedown shotgun with a cutts lyman compensator with 3 screw in chokes. I was unable to find the year however the serial # is 1670—. It is in good condition with little wear and tear. It looks as though the compensator is from the same time period as the gun itself. I have tried books but was unable to find one that provided the help i was looking for.

You provided all of the essential information. Unfortunately, Winchester (now DOA) does not offer product line production history like Remington or Browning. I have attached the link for Winchester authorized valuing services.
From what I have seen, a Model 12 similar to yours is worth about $500 at a gun shop. Values vary based on how badly someone wants a Model 12!
A good source of information, if you want to spend a day at the range, is go to a local trap club, where many experienced shooters (many of whom love Model 12s) will give you a realistic appraisal of your shotgun’s value!
Good luck!
