Upper Handguard
How do I remove the upper wood handguard from a Yugo sks?
Once I have the gas return tube removed , how do I remove the wood furniture from it… Do I need an actual press to remove the rivet or ?
My bad, how do I remove the wood furniture from the gas tube, it appears to be 2 metal tabs holding it in place on each end . It doesnt rotate like the handguard on the AK’s
See that lever on the right side of the rear sight block? Rotate it up.
When you have it right, the tube will lift off.
It’s a pin, not a rivet. Very easy to drift it out. Tap it out with a nail and a small hammer etc. Be sure you don’t lose it because that metal end holds your replacement handguard in place later.
